AUMLA is the Association’s journal and has been published twice yearly (May and November) since 1953. It is fully peer-reviewed and is recognised as a C1 publication by the Australian Department of Education. The journal is international in focus and content, and contributors come from universities all over the world: the current issue contains articles from academics in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the U.S.A. The journal is held in many libraries around the world, and issues since 2005 are available online through EBSCO.

The editor welcomes submissions on any topic in the broad field of language and literature, from ancient to modern times. The journal mainly publishes articles written in English, but will also occasionally publish articles written in French and German. Articles should be between 4000 and 9000 words in length and conform to the style guide. Submissions may be made electronically as an email attachment to the editor (goodall@usq.edu.au) in Word format. Submissions are reviewed by two readers and a decision on publication is made within three months. Articles usually appear within eighteen months of acceptance.

The journal also publishes reviews of academic books in fields relevant to the journal’s interests. Suggestions for reviews should be made to the editor or reviews editor.
